Bluebell Roo
In early 2005 we opened our doors to our new holiday club.
Activities
Our professional caring staff plan the timetable for the holiday breaks to ensure that the children receive a stimulating variety of fun and enjoyable activities to keep them entertained throughout their time with us.
Healthy & Delicious Meals
All meals are freshly prepared on site in the kitchen in the main building. The menus are the same for both the holiday club and the day nursery and have been created by our cook to ensure that they offer a balanced and varied diet. These menus are appraised regularly and changed according to the season of the year. Special dietary requirements will be catered for upon request. Wherever ever possible, children are encouraged to serve themselves, learn good table manners and interact with others at meal times. We were awarded with the coveted ‘Heartbeat Award' in 2004 for our healthy and nutritional menus.
Personal Hygiene & Well Being
We consider hygiene to be very important. Children are encouraged to always wash their hands after using the toilet, before meals and throughout the day following activities. Clean flannels are supplied daily and are put aside for washing following a single use. Clean flannels are supplied daily and are put aide for washing following a single use. The children are also encouraged to rush their teeth after lunch. You will be asked to supply a toothbrush and toothpaste for your child's use. All toothbrushes and mugs are sterilised regularly in Milton.
Illness
To minimise the spread of infection, we are unable to admit any child who appears to be suffering from any infectious illness. Should a child become ill whilst at the holiday club, contact will be made immediately with the parent by phone and the child may require collection.
Child Protection
As a provider of a holiday play scheme we are responsible for the well being of the children attending our holiday club and we are governed by the Children's act 1989.
Encouraging Good Behaviour
Positive behaviour is encouraged by providing consistent rules and limits, through praise and example. If persistent problems occur, the child's play worker will discuss the problem with the parent, room supervisor or manager to find an acceptable solution.
Equal opportunities
We actively promote equal opportunities in our holiday club. We take great care to treat each individual as people in their own right regardless of gender, race, ethnic origin, faith or disability. Through our careful selection of professional staff and quality training, the children are surrounded by positive role models. Play equipment and books are specially selected to promote positive images of men, women, boys and girls.
Special Needs
All children are welcome at Dimples' holiday club. If your child has a particular special need, please let us know so that we can work together for the benefit of your child.
Complaints & Suggestions
At Dimples we strive to ensure that the holiday club consistently promotes high standards of quality childcare. We welcome any suggestions and comments that parents may wish to contribute.
Admissions
Priority will be given to children requiring full time care over the holiday period and to siblings of children who already attend Dimples Day Nursery. Places are filled very quickly and we recommend that you book your place early. The holiday club is open for all half term breaks, the Easter holidays and the Summer holidays. We do not operate during the Christmas break and we are closed at weekends and on all Bank holidays. Please see our guidelines here on admissions.
And Finally
Although this prospectus aims to give you a good picture of Dimples' holiday club, it cannot replace the benefits of a visit. ‘Once you've been, you'll be sure to like what you've seen.'
