About Us

About Us

At Dimples we believe children are unique and individual and deserve to be loved, cherished and nurtured.

Through play, our professional, dedicated and caring practitioners promote each individual child’s learning and interests.

We respect that parents are their children’s first educators and we hugely value our strong partnership with parents. Parents and carers are welcome to participate at the nursery and we actively encourage an open and respectful relationship between practitioners and our children’s families.

Dimples highly value the huge impact that active learning has on children’s development and the importance of the outdoors. Outdoor play focuses highly on our day to day practice as we consider that natural environments and outdoor play greatly enhances children’s development and behaviour.

Staff

Through ongoing professional development, we are committed to sustaining a workforce of highly qualified and knowledgeable practitioners. These dedicated staff understand child development and use their knowledge to provide stimulating and educational activities that inspire, challenge and fascinate the children.

Keypersons get to know their children and families well. They know their key children’s interests, schematic play behaviors and personalities.
Children’s emotional well being is nurtured and their involvement and participation is encouraged. Children’s achievements are celebrated and their independence is fostered, building their self-worth and self-esteem.

We provide a fully inclusive provision at Dimples where all children and families are welcome. By working with Multi-Agencies and professionals we aim to meet the needs of every child.

A beautiful quote from the famous theorist Froebel describes how children are wonderful as individuals and amazing when together with their peers.

At Dimples we believe that the children learn a great deal by mixing with the other children and staff within their rooms, from other rooms and with the many supervised visitors to the nursery.

Froebel, ‘Children are like tiny flowers, they are varied and need care but each is beautiful alone and glorious when seen in the community of peers.'

Safeguarding our Children

Dimples Day Nursery is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. This means that we ensure that everyone working in our nursery has successfully completed the necessary clearances to enable them to work with children.

We have a number of policies and procedures in place that contribute to our safeguarding commitment, including our safeguarding policy which can be found on the policy page under our parents section or a hard copy is the main lobby of the nursery.

It also means that we have staff members who are specifically trained and nominated as the Designated Safeguarding Leads (DSL).

All staff, parents and visitors are expected to share any concerns they have about staff with the DSL. Our staff ‘Whistle blowing Policy’ has been discussed and adopted and all staff have access to this document and understand about all that it entails.

We also follow the Child Protection Procedures and advice from the Local Safeguarding Children’s Board local guidance. The 'Keeping Children Safe in Education' is valued and understood by all staff at nursery. We have systems in place to share concerns regarding children’s welfare, child sexual exploitation, PREVENT/radicalisation and female genital mutilation with our DSLs, with parents and with relevant external agencies.

Part of our legal duty to safeguard our children, may also include us needing to consult specifically with and take advice from, the Police or Children's Social Care, should the need arise.

By working closely together, we firmly believe that we will continue to offer a safe learning environment for all our children.
